I bought this CPU: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181154900837?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
A month ago and it's been really good, it's a dual core processor though, and it cost around $12.
I'm really poor so I don't want to spend too much on computer upgrades since I can't afford to spend money on stuff like that, so... Which do you guys think is better?

My old one?
Or this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-OPTERON-QUAD-CORE-PROCESSOR-2389-2-90GHZ-6MB-L3-CACHE-2200MHZ-OS2389WHP4DGI-/190866573865?pt=CPUs&hash=item2c7088ca29

Its not worth it. What are you using your PC for? The opteron series are designed for servers. You would need to buy a server motherboard, potentially a GPU and a cooler as well. Buy a consumer chip on the cheap end such as an AMD Athlon II or Intel celeron/Pentium. Not opteron.

I'm using my PC for gaming and I want to upgrade it because I'm also hosting a private server on it, but I can't spend my money on something that cost $90 or anything like that.

Then how can you afford a new motherboard, CPU cooler and maybe ram/GPU? Its really not worth it from a value perspective in any case. What GPU do you have? At least get a $60 athlon II x3 which you might be able to unlock to a phenom. Server MBs are very expensive. You would actually save money going for an athlon II x3 and a cheap($50) motherboard.

I'm not building a computer... I'm upgrading my CPU.

Your same components, especially motherboard, will not be compatible with this CPU.
