So im gonna buy a gpu (1060 3gb)and a motherboard for a i3 6100 but i already have a Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. GA-78LMT-USB3 (Socket M2) motherboard which can support a athlon cpu so should i go for a athlon x4 880k instead for a i3 6100 plus a motherboard and will it bottleneck the gpu if i go with the athlon?
One more question:will i get the same fps in games if i go with the athlon?
P.S:I already have ram for my motherboard 4,00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 669MHz (9-9-9-24) so i can add 4 more if i need
P.S.S:What are the changes between the i3 and x4?

Solution
The X4 880k is not compatible with that Gigabyte board. The motherboard is AM3+ and the cpu is FM2+. Either way the i3 6100 is the better option, it not only performs better for gaming but it has an upgrade path were the 880k does not.
Intel all day. The single core performance, most important with many tasks, is much more powerful with any Intel chips as opposed to AMD. Also the AMD lineup is very dated with almost no upgrade path. If you go with the i3-6100, you could always eventually upgrade to the i7-6700 or 6700k depending on if you bought a Z series mobo. Yes Intel is more expensive, but they are a more powerful type of CPU.
