AMD or Intel for NON gaming pc build.

Hello, i'm having difficulties understanding difference between amd kaveri cpu's or intel ones.
Basically i need really fast PC for NO gaming usage, no games will be ever played on it. I want really snappy, lag free system that will be used for browsing, media, office work and so on. So should i go with intel or amd processor? Quad-core is a must.
Budget is around 500$ for whole system. No HDD will be used, only SSD 120gb.

First I would question why a quad core is a must.
But to answer your question Intel has a lot faster processor in terms of processing information, the higher clock frequency of the AMD still can't process the information as fast as the lower clock rate of the Intel.
Unless your using specific applications that need the power of a quad core like video editing or something I would be looking at a i3 4150 and using a SSD for your drive.

I concur, generally, with @Zerk2012. Quad core won't be utilized, by the applications you list. I don't see an i3 3150 listed on Intel's ARK -- maybe @Zerk2012 meant an i3 4150 .. You could bump up to the i3 4370 for the faster graphics of the HD4600.

All those things can be done fairly snappy by a phone cpu, the ssd is the important bit. I would go with an a8 7600 apu for the igpu horsepower.
