Hi,

So i need help on this pick or suggested other.

AMD X8 Core FX-8350 4.0Ghz & ASUS M5A78L-M USB3

or

Intel Core I7 4770 3.4Ghz + Gigabyte H81M-S2PV

The programs the computer is used for our as follows AutoCAD 2014, Autodesk MAYA 2014, Blender, Gimp, and cry engine.
Webdesign and FTP

I also game on the PC mainly dota2 and the game i am working on.

I have 16gb of corsair vengeance RAM.
And a SSD for the build.

And as for graphics card if i go with the AMD i should be able to get one if not that will come later and suggested cards would be looked into.

Thanks
Ricky

Definitely you need to go for the 4770. It's great for the softwares you use and it's great for gaming too. 4770 beats the FX 8350. You can consider render time benchmarks of these two CPU's.

I also recommend you to get a Nvidia graphics card as it's much better than AMD in CG works. Nvidia uses Cuda cores, open gl and open cl but AMD is not fully optimized for such works and it only uses open cl.

You can also get a H87 chipset mobo to be able to benefit from full features of the haswell 4770.
I recommend you one of these mobos:

-This link should help you a bit

-Which ever platform you are going with both motherboard you listed are ultra basic especially the ASUS M5A78L-M USB3 which is an more than 4 year old chipset named AMD 760G. For AMD FX platform ASUS M5A97 LE is a more powerful and feature rich board featuring AMDs newer 970 AM3+ chipset.

-For Intel 4th gen platform Gigabyte GA-B85-D3H is also pretty good and functional motherboard

-Regarding graphics card an AMD R9-280x is a solid performing GPU that can tackle almost all games at max settings upto 1200p resolution. Have a look at the Gigabye R9-280X @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125490. For mainstream gaming GPU an AMD R9-270x would be fine.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply's, looks like i will go with the i7, is it worth me getting the 4770 or 4770k? and as for mobo will probably go with a GIGABYTE GA-H87-D3H,

Think a graphics card will come a bit later as we our right on top of Christmas,

If you're going to overclock your build get the 4770k. You need a Z87 chipset mobo to be able to overclock it and as 4770k overheats when OC'ed, you need an after market cooling system too. Haswell 4770k is not as good as ivybridge 3770k in overclocking. I would go for a 4770.

I recommend you this mobo If you want to go for a 4770k:

That would be good. The mobo is not as good as what I suggested but it worth the price. get it

I'm not sure about GTX 560ti as you can get much better GPUs, also you didn't mentioned the price. GTX 560ti is better than GTX 650ti OC and weaker than GTX 650ti Boost, consider the prices and get it if it worth.
Asus GTX 650 TI OC 1GB is about 140$

Ok so i brought it, Think i will up the mobo as i have a buyer for the other one.

Also the gpu he only want £60 on mates rates lol, So i will probably get it and upgrade it in the coming months.
thanks for your help much appreciated.

Congratulations! Finally you did it.
