Hellooo!!!!
so im planning to upgrade my GPU, CPU and Mo-Bo. Currently i own a 6600k, an Asus maximus viii hero and a gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming..! since im planning to stick with 1080p 144hz i think that ill purchase a gtx 1070 or 1080 or maybe ill just wait for 20 series reviews ..But the problem is: which platform should i choose??? im between ryzen 7 2700(x) and i7 8700k.. the price difference im my country is 45-60 euro for the x model and 100 for the non x . I incline to ryzen because im upset with intel since they "killed" z170 and z270 chipsets and they are forcing us to buy a new same socket board just because they changed chipset. also im a bit afraid of i7 temps
PS1: i have 16 gb trident z 3200 mhz memory (red color) and an evga supernova 750g2
PS2: regardless the cpu ill go again with asus maximus hero boards because i like the bios and both are really close in price and it ll be easy to match the color sceme (black-red)
PS3: i have a custom loop with 360 rad (only cpu cooled)
PS4: i do not own the monitor, in a month i ll buy Asus VG248QE (if you have to reccomend something else it is accepted)
What do you think?? it seems that im a bit comfused.!
Thanks for your help :D

Solution
The OC may help but yes games such as BF1 do prefer more then 4 cores. Anyway with the Intel 9th Gen rumored to release early October it may be worth waiting, or just grabbing a Ryzen 2600/B450 and new GPU now.

Thanks for response :) it currently running at 4.6 ghz 1.260v i can push it more.. my only concern is that in benchmarks new cpus with more cores have significantly more fps than a i5 i7 with 4cores...or oc may fill this gap??

I agree with wildcard to an extent. The 6600k OC'ed will still push the 1070/1080 fine, but even OC'ed it will max out causing stuttering in many existing games and new AAA games. BF1, COD WW2 and the like will push the 6600k to 100% load and will not be a great experience. IMO, you are just putting off the inevitable by upgrading GPU now, and OC the CPU. You will be disappointed. So an platform upgrade is worthwhile to have smooth gameplay, ample host processing resources and plenty of power to drive whatever GPU you want.

You could go something like this for Ryzen:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor ($224.89 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard ($188.89 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB G1 Gaming Video Card ($449.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $863.77

Something like this for Intel:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor ($349.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Corsair - H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($109.18 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus - ROG MAXIMUS X HERO (WI-FI AC) ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($255.99 @ B&H)
Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB G1 Gaming Video Card ($449.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $1165.15

Both would give plenty of gaming chops and stream/multitask like champs. Would also give you max fps at 1080p 144hz (although the intel will push slightly more due to IPC/Clockspeed advantage)

Thanks for response :) ..i think that i ll probably keep my curent cpu-mobo and i ll put on 1st priority GPU and monitor, since 6600k will be able to keep up with a gtx 1070 or 1080 and in late 2k18 or early 2k19 i ll change platform.

i think that the best option is to keep my 6600k until early 2019 so i might be able to have more cpu options..until then ill put as 1st priority to buy a better gpu and monitor!!!!!!!

I hear ya :) good luck.
