On that note, I will sadly admit, a pair of needlenose pliers and an Asus A8V don't mix very well. Almost $150 later, my old mobo now hangs on the wall, a useless chunk of silicon and metal.
So for the newbie, if you do choose to build a system, you had better be prepared to spend your own money to fix what you break. If you're lucky, an RMA will be issued, but only with a good vendor.
If you do the DIY route, only buy from reputable retailers like Newegg.com or ZipZoomFly.com, as they both readily accept most RMA requests and will ship you a new part within a week of receiving the one you spilled your coffee on...err....I mean it was DOA out of the box....
