Hey guys , I recently looked at Canada Computers to see if they have any deals , and while i was there , i noticed that the 965 i7 Extreme is about 1400 bucks. Compared to the AMD's which is like around 200-500 bucks. Now i know this might sound weird but if i got i7 , would it be more worthwhile in the long run *using computer for 3-5 years and won't build another till then* so i'm looking for a good computer that can run anything i throw at it , but still wondering about the processor.

I recently bought a 295 GTX nVidia Card... But wondering about the processor + Motherboard everything else is okay with me

so...what you guys recommend?

Don't get the 965 unless you are swimming in cash, there is no good reason when you can OC the 920 to match or exceed its performance. I would get a 920 and Asus P6T Deluxe V2.

Asus P6T deluxe V2 and the Core I7 920 will be perfect, I run the P6T deluxe V-1, the Core I7 920 and the GTX 295 and it is a screamer!! I don't need the SAS ports and the V-2 wasn't out when I built mine, wish it would have been!!! If you are after more GPU processing power then 2 GTX 285's is where it's at...nothing will touch them!!

If you have the money for it, go with an I7 build, and go with overclocking the 920 or 940 over getting the 965. If you don't have as much cash you can go with a Phenom II build so you don't have to sacrifice on your graphics options, I'd suggest 720BE and a board with ACC to possibly unlock the 4th core, but will still have a powerful system. It's just up to you.
