Hello people ,

Here is my current spec :

Mobo : ASUS M5A99X
GPU : SAPPHIRE 7850 OC (2GB)
CPU : AMD Phenom x4 965 BE - Hydro h75 cooler
PSU : 650 W

So this is briefly my current spec .

The question is , what should I upgrade first ?

My GPU is kinda OK-ish i guess and I think the CPU is bottlenecking it a bit . This PC was built for gaming and I want it to be able to handle new games on high setting at stable 60fps .

So if am right , and my main goal should be to upgrade my CPU , which one should i get ?
I am choosing between FX 6300 / 8300 / 8350 .

There is some confusion for me , and so I will try to ask in way , so you guys can hopefuly understand me .

In case 8300 vs 8350 , there is only difference in base clock right ? 3.3 vs 4 ghz . But there is something called max cpu frequency and that is up to 4.2 ghz on both . So my question is , how does this work ? Does it only mean that 8300 can run on lower clock speed , thus taking lower energy and if needed , it is boosted automatically up to 4.2 ? If so , isn't 8300 superior then ?

Also my next question aims to gaming . As games theese days are still more depndant on single core speed than having access to multiple cores , isnt it better to get 6 core ? In this case it's battle between 6300 vs 8300 , 3.9 vs 3.3 Ghz .

I just still can't decide about this. Please , help me guys .

get fx-6300 if you really don't care about extra cores and higher frequency coz both of the cpu performs almost same in gaming,
there is not only difference in base clock, 8350 have more single core performance and OC potential than 8300
games these days are actually dependant on 4 core, it is better to get 6 or more cores or at least 4 cores

the thing is price . In shop ill be ordering from , the 6300 is actualy 5euros more expensive than 8300 and 8350 is 60 more than 8300 . Considering this , is it still better to take 6 core , even if 8core is cheaper but has less power per core ? Which one is better in long term ?
