Hello, I am currently looking to upgrade and overclock my CPU. I have a 1090t Black edition CPU. A Antec elevenhundred case, a 500g WD hard drive, about to get a ASUS CROSSHAIR V FORMULA AMD 990FX AM3+ Motherboard, Antec High Current Gamer HCG-900 900w Power Supply , and a XFX 6790 1GB DDR5. What type of ram, speed, and amount should I get. I am trying to keep it under $250 for the ram. Also with running all that what would be the best cooler for the CPU inside that case? Thanks for the help

$250? I can see no reason why you should go over $50. Get 8 gigs of DDR3 1600 memory, 2 X 4GB. 1600 speed will be good for if you upgrade to an FX CPU. I like Mushkin because I prefer to buy American, but there are other decent brands too. Check your motherboard approved list before buying.

I'd look into the Thermaltake Frio or Xigmatek Aegir, as shown here:

Although I think the Aegir is a bit pricey.

Sorry I am on my notebook, I meant to say 250 for the cooling and Ram. I do like the link for the Cooling. Will my currently CPU recognize anything over 1333?

Hi, if you can overclock your North-bridge to around 2600-2800 you will see a big improvement in your memory bandwidth to make use of 1600-1800 DDR3. Look for something with low latency (7's maybe) and low voltage, like around 1.5-1.6 volts.
Corsair has some low profile 1600 at New Egg for $50 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233259

As for cooling the Noctua NH-D14 is still a top performer but costs $90.

And Have fun
