Hey there peeps.....
I am running an AMD Phenom II 720 BE with 4 cores stable at 3.4 Ghz with 1.475V. I believe that at this voltage I can get it to about 3.6 (But that is another story)
But my question comes regarding the voltage.
Ive read that max is 1.425. That seems clear to me, BUT, I unlocked the fourth core and works great. Ran Pirme95 for 12 hrs and no errors. I also ran AMD Overdrive for about 9 hrs and all is great.
Now, my question is.... Is it safe to be running the cpu at 1.475V for everyday use?
Another question is that apparently, when you unllock the fourth core, the bios changes the max power for the cpu at 1.55V.
Would this be because it needs more juice to power 4 cores instead of 3??
Any input would be great on what would be a well balanced voltage for everyday use and overclocking the cpu without shortening the cpu's life.
😀
Thnaks!!
