AMD Phenom ii 965(c3) - no boot - no post - no beeps

Hi,

I was hoping one of you could help me with the following problem.
I am upgrading my processor from a x2 5200+ to a phenom ii 965 and my system is not booting. Fans and hard discs start, but there is no video, post, or any beeps.

I have tried resetting the cmos, and booting with just the processor in(no HD, RAM or GPU).
This is all i could think of, but it doesn't solve anything nor show any extra signs of "life".
If i place the old processor back in the system boots up normal.

Any extra advise/tests/tricks?

System specs
AMD Phenom ii 965 - c3 stepping
MSI K9A2 Neo-f - Bios 1.D0(latest)
4x 1gb ram
ASUS hd5770
550W power supply

Maybe the mobo chipset doesn't support that cpu.

It's supported since bios version 1.B, and 1.D is flashed.

Already tried that, should have mentioned that in the op.
And, as i did mention, the system boots fine with the old processor.
Could the new processor just be damaged

Very rare. Socket pins maybe but not cpu.

Pins are clean and in (seemingly) good condition.
Anything i can do to? Besides finding a complete second system to test?

If all you've done is change the cpu, then I'm thinking all it can be is the cpu that's causing grief.

Without beeps it's too hard to tell.
