Amd phenom II not identified by ASUS motherboard

I recently bought a new ASUS motherboard M4A785TD-V EVO with AMD Phenom II Multi-core processor (6 cores). When I check the computer configuration, it reads "AMD unknown processor". Please help me resolving this issue.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

U need update the BIOS of ur mobo.

Go here and download the last BIOS version and after that u can download the manual and take a look of the page 43 (2-1) and u can find many ways to update the BIOS.
