Hello!

I will try to keep this brief. I've been have bsod 0x124 crashes lately and in the process of trying to pinpoint the issue I noticed that my CPU vcore is idling at 1.488v in the BIOS. Given the stock is 1.375ish this seems astronomically high? I will add here that I have dabbled in overclocking my GPU a few years ago but never the CPU. Two questions then, what's causing it and how can I manually lower it?

Thanks!! :)

Asus M5a97 mobo
8gb ram
Radeon hd 6790

Go into your BIOS and set it to "optimized defaults." that is a very high vcore. I ran my C3 stepping 965BE at 4.3 GHz with less vcore than that.

Ok I've done that. Vcore dropped to 1.44, which still seems on the high side?

Try undervolting it to like 1.39 and stress test it to see if its stable at that voltage.
