Amd phenom ii x4 965 will this cpu work on a Gigabyte GA-990fxa-ud3 motherboard

i have just built up asystem with the AMD PhenomII 965 140watt cpu on a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard and can't get anything at all on the screen,can anybody help please?

Is the wall outlet your using working? Will other items plugged into it work?
Does your PSU have a voltage switch on the back? Is it set to the correct voltage for your country?
Have you connected both the motherboard 20+4pin and the 4+4pin power cables?
Have you tried connecting just a single molex fan directly to your PSU? Does the fan power up?

i have got power in my desktop but nothing on the screen,iam using a NVIDIA 9500gt 1gb graphics card

Does your motherboard have any onboard Video outputs you can try?
Do you get a display using onboard graphics?
Have you tried a different PCI slot?
Have you tried a different port on the Graphics card?
Is your monitor proven working? (does it work with anything else plugged into it) or do you have another pc/laptop you can plug in to test it?

Gigabyte and most other mobo makers have a list of CPUs that function on each model mobo listed on their website. Yes as other's have confirmed the 965 works on the Gigabyte mobo that you have.
