Hi, fellow forum members!

I'm trying to do an OC of my 1055t, since i've heard this CPU is easily overclockable.

My specs:

AMD Phenom II X6 1055t
4 GB (broke 2 of the 4 sticks, don't ask :sarcastic:) of Kingston DDR3 RAM
ASRock 890GX Extreme3
600W PSU

Here is CPU-Z info:

If any more info is required, i can provide it.

Almost forgot, the CPU cooler is a Noctua Nh-D14, so cooling is no problem.

Cooling is no problem.

As posting a step by step tutorial on OC ing the 1055t on this thread would be complicated, not to mention time consuming, I'll post a link to a good guide I found on YouTube.

If I have helped, please consider selecting my answer as the solution. Thanks

You will have to lower the HT and NB multiplier and lower the ram speed so that when you rase the base clock it won't cause them to crash. The normal base speed is 200 so try upping it a little bit at a time then stress test to see if it is stable if stable raise it a little more and so forth till it isn't stable then either try upping the cpu voltage slightly if cpu temps aren't too high or back the base speed down to the last stable setting.. You will also need to disable turbo boost and you may need to raise the voltage of the actual chipset on the motherboard as well. After the cpu is stable you can try to raise your ram speed if you like. I really would recommend reading in indepth guide to overclocking a locked x6 cpu because this is just the cheat sheet short version and i skipped many steps and settings that you can play with to get more speed. (like rasing the nb speed, tweaking ram timings, and a whole plethora of other things...

1. Make sure you disable spread spectrum in the bios and disable c1e and other power saving features.
2. Is that 1.56volts cpu really what you have your cpu voltage at you should be getting close to 4GhZ with your cooler and cpu with that much volts? 1.4 to 1.45volts or so should be enough for your overclock.
3. I think your Kingston ram might be holding you back so try changing your ram timings to the what is called in your cpuid as Jedec #4 or lower the ram multiplier in the bios, to make sure the ram isn't holding you back. You can allways raise the voltage of the ram later and see if it will help it run at faster speeds or tighter timings.
4. Also what are you running your NB voltage at? Also try lowering the ht and or NB muiti again just to make sure they are not holding you back.
You may have to do a combination of these things to get the best overclock but I would just start with lowering the ram multi, ht multi and NB muti. You can always try raising the NB multi later if you get the cpu clock stable at a higher overclock (3.8 to 4.0ghz ish). Good luck man..
