Check this out buddy , my score at the left side compared with your friend's score .

so , you'll be fine just by getting that CPU + HD 7950 :)

but think a lot if it's worth getting an used AMD Phenom II X6 1065T + HD 7950
or an New FX-8320 + HD 7950 + AM3+ Motherboard ( you'll get much better chance to upgrade the CPU in the Future )

one more thing :) , the FX-8320 is much better for future if you are looking for better future proof since it's 8 cores processor and it has Beast performance in multithreaded apps which can smoke most of the under 250$ processor ( intel & AMD )
the current games uses less than 4 cores in gaming , so the 8 cores are wasted in gaming for now...

this supposed to be your friends HD 7970 and AMD Phenom II X6 1065T 3DMark 11 Benchmarks .

Alright !! am gonna do an 3DMark 11 benchmark using my hD 7870 and the FX-8320 which has pretty much the same gaming performance as the FX-8320 which i had listed it before .

i will show you me results using the HD 7870 and the FX-8350 as soon as the benchmark Ends .

and for those whom saying " 8 cores will never be used in gaming " so why the upcoming consoles developers used an 8 cores CPU in the consoles such as the Xbox One and PS4 ??!

yea i think i may just go with the x6 1065t and hd 7950 then when steamroller comes out if it does i will upgrade to that

I don't have much experience with the X6 processor but I did just buy a 1100T off Ebay to test. From what I've read it... it should do well @ ~4GHz.

I don't think you need anything more. Your GPU should be able to handle the rest. The 7950 is as a very capable GPU. Enjoy!

really i was thinking because all the new games coming out i only have a hd 6950 1gb and i have a 1080p screen and a 1600x900 as my secondary screen so what do u think

and thats what i was think thats why i asked

Phenom II X6 1065T is old and terrible mate, do not buy it. I have a 1035T and it completely fucks with my system. I bought a prebuilt that had the 1035T and a 5750 in it before I knew how to build computers. I put a GTX 570 in it and it runs most GPU-intensive games very smooth but any games that require CPU it completely kills it.

Want my advice? Don't waste time with old gear. Don't worry about price. The $200 for a good CPU might seem like a lot, it is not. Work overtime, or cut money elsewhere. What is more important to you, saving a measly $200 and being frustrated or just spending the money and forget about it while you seamlessly enjoy your games?
