Hi there,

I have been thinking about doing an upgrade from an AMD Phenom II X6 1075T (which I got in 2010) to an Intel I5 3570k. Would I see much of a performance boost in terms of gaming (think Assassins Creed III, Skyrim and Dishonored)? Of course I'd be getting a new Motherboard and faster ram with it.

Or would I be better off just getting another GTX 670 graphics card and utilizing SLI?

Just itching to upgrade, but I want to make sure it would be worth it first.. :)

Thanks!

SLI with AMD cpu's is a disaster, especially with higher end gpu's.

Bottlenecking is quite bad.

The 3570k will give a boost in fps yes, BUT you will also see much smoother gameplay overall.

The 3570k is about 10% better than the 2500k for comparison.

The I5 would be faster but by how much will depend.
