AMD Phenom II x6 1090T

I am new to overclocking and this is more or less a junk PC I am on right now, I have a new rig coming in. I want to overclock my CPU but I am not sure how to go about doing it, my motherboard is M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3. I have a non-stock heatsink in and a different thermal compound (dyne silver). I also have a 700W Pro-Stream power supply.

Also, my CPU idle temp is 40c, so I may need to put more thermal compound on it as I am not sure it covered the entire processor.

At 100% load playing Crysis 2 with the DX11 and HiResTexture packs my temp is stable at 52c, is that to high?

Have you already bought this stuff? I'm not sure what your situation is. If you don't have the 1090 yet and this is a gaming build, skip it.

I already have the 1090t, this is the current computer I am on. The computer on the way has an Intel 2600k
