[SOLVED] amd phenom ii x6 1100t basic cooler

I gave my cousin my old computer with the processor which is in the title, but upon him taking it back to his house, games started to lag on his computer. I remotely tried to troubleshoot, and with inspection saw that his processor temps were pretty high. I'm assuming that either the processor cooler broke during the drive (as it is old), got unplugged, or something else.

With that said, I am looking for a basic cooler for this processor, but, as it is old, I am not sure what coolers on the market exist today that would be compatible. Just an air cooler would work, something akin to the stock cooler.

EDIT: I am looking for something cheap as the computer is meant to play lower end games.

Ifyou're sure the temp issue is the old stock cooler failing, 125W AM3 stock coolers are readily available on ebay if you want to simply replace it with another. This ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro[/u] is available pretty cheap.

Thanks, I am hoping its the reason. The computer was working fine when I was testing it before giving it away, so I'm not sure why temps are spiking. However, the current cooler is about 5 years old, an asetek water cooler, which I hear typically don't last that long.

What were his high (load) core temps? Did you use AMD Overdrive to check for throttling?
