AMD Phenom vs AMD Athlon II graphics card

My computer has the AMD phenom, to run diablo 3 the game i am getting a new graphics card. the graphics card says a requirement is the AMD anthlon. Are these interchangable. so if i get the card can i put it in my AMD phenom and get it to work?

Phenom > Athlon. Your CPU is better than the one listed so don't worry.

but just to double check, if it can run on Anthlon then it can run on Phenom correct?

yes phenom is the upgrade to Athlon.
