AMD Phenom x4 820 Heatsink

I have a heat sink from an Athlon 64 x2 3800, will that work on the x4 820 cpu? The TDP for the athlon is 89 vs 95 for the 820, max temps look the same. I dont have the am2+/am3 socket motherboard yet, not sure if the connections will even work. This computer will not be over clocked and only have light use(cartoon network games and similar stuff). If this saves me $10 then im happy, it makes the whole computer $120.
