How much of a performance boost will I get from upgrading from this old AMD Phenom X4 9650 to an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T?

The Pentium is only slightly faster with a much faster single core speed but a much slower multi-core speed.

But if you move to the 4400 you will need a new mobo, why not go for the G4560 or G4620? They have 4 threads vs 2 on the G4400.

Gaming these days with two threads is not a good idea, you really need 4 threads minimum.

So would it be a wise choice to save up a bit more cash and get a cheap h110 motherboard with a g4560 and 8gb ddr4 instead of just getting a pheonom ii 1045t with 4 GB ddr2?

What are your intended uses of this machine? Everyday usage and even some gaming will be much faster with the first choice.

I don't play much games, I really do want to play league of legends with constant 70+ fps, I multi task a lot, I watch YouTube, discord and that's about it. if I can get constant 60+ FPS on league of legends with the 1045T, it would be more than enough for me but I'm not sure if it's good enough.
