Hello!
I have two processors, and I need help from you that which one should I pick.

The processors are
1. AMD Athlon II X2 280
http://

2. AMD Athlon II X3 460
http://

Which one of these two is relatively faster and would all-around perform better for daily usage and occasional gaming? And is the two year margin between the two processors a major factor and how big of a factor? Could you please answer which one would you choose and why without noticing other hardware in the PC because I have checked that both processors fit and will work on my computer.

Thank you for your help beforehand!

Both processors are good, as you were told, the X2 280 will perform better in the light software because it is more efficiency in single tasks. But overall nowadays programs use more than two cores, so the X3 460 would be a better choice. The X3 460 is also two years older, but it's not a big matter, it would still perform better for your usage. Yes, the clock speed is 200MHz slower, but the one extra core gives more power.
Neither of those are bad, but for you with surfing, playing and possibly using some heavy applications, the Athlon II X3 460 is a better choice. It may be a bit more expensive than the dual core, but it is worth the money.

Hope this one helps you!
