AMD R9-270 compatibility with motherboard

Bought this card, wont boot with it in my motherboard, Intel extreme 1155 socket i5 .. does boot with the old gtx 460.. put the card in a newer pc boots fine.. If I buy another board that supports the cpu .. how do I know I won't have this issue again ??

Make sure you are running the latest bios. It should boot with 270.
