amd r9 270x consuming 4 gb of ram?

The amd website says that the r9 270x requires minimum of 4 gb ram ,does this mean that the graphics card will consume 4gb of ram and the ram will get reduced?

It actually eats it, you should chain your graphics card into the slot with a four digit combination lock minimum to prevent it from devouring your other components.

the card will even run just fine with system that only having 2GB of RAM. the problem is not graphic card. but the game itself. by today standard 4GB will be the bare minimum to have. 8GB will also soon become the minimum looking some games out there that can easily use 6GB to 7GB+ of RAM.
