AMD r9 295 x2 ultrawide monitor problems

for a while i've had a gtx 660 ti and a 2560x1080 ultrawide monitor. last week I upgraded to a r9 295 x2, after uninstalling all the Nvidia drivers and installing the AMD drivers and whatnot. When I went to change my resolution back to 2560x1080 the option wasn't there, the highest option was 1920x1080 I looked everywhere and every place that I could change the resolution it all said that I couldn't go above 1920x1080. Is there anything that I can do to fix this? I know with Nvidia you can create custom resolutions, for example having 2560x1440 on a 1920x1080 monitor.

You are probably using a different cable from what you used to. Try using HDMI, or anything else you have lying around.
