Hello there!

I'm just wondering what has happened to my gpu temps.
It has mostly stayed around 50 degrees with the fans spinning and now its at 40 degrees with no fans running. Im not complaining 😛 But im just interested to what actually did this.
AMD Gaming evolved did update so im not sure if that has to do anything with it.

Thank you.

The first few days i had the GPU it was around 45 degrees idle. No fans. Then it came up to 50 degrees with all fans spinning. Now it's 40 degrees with no fans, you know i'm not complaining but i'm just wondering the cause

Well generally the fans will spin when the GPU is at a higher temperature than it should be (in order to cool it down). So that is why they were spinning at 50, but not at 40.

Regarding the cause of the high idle temps: You could have a lot of dust built-up in your case, a bad case-fan configuration, a high room temperature, generally bad airflow. Any of this sound like something that relates to you/your PC?

I can't think of a lot of dust inside my case, got a fractal design r5 that has dust filters in the front and bottom. I'm thinking it might be because of high room temperature. I got 2 fans in the front both running at full speed. A fan in the back full speed also. All three are 140 MM. Then I got a Noctua NH-D15 with 2 Noctua 140 mm fans pushing air to the back of the case. I got a friend of mine running same case, same fan setup. The difference is that he's running a r9 390 and a hyper 212, getting 35 degrees idle

Do you live in quite a hot country? If so, that might explain it

I live in Sweden, which is not a very warm country 😛
