First off here is a log file from HWiNFO showing the sensor stats on every piece of hardward in my box. The log was taken as the crash happened.

I just started playing WoW again after a 3 year break. I'm running a fairly beefy system, 8 core 4GHz, 24GB DDR3, Radeon R9380, on a GIGABYTE 990FXA-UD3. Shortly after I start playing however the game started to crash saying, "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered." Now granted I'm playing at full ultra everything, but shouldn't this build be able to!? The only other thing that comes to mind is my storage pool. Maybe too many hdd's hogging up too much power, IDK i'm reaching here.
Any thoughts, suggestions or information would be great. Thank for taking your time to read.
PS here is a DXDiag file incase you'd like more information about my box.

Solution
Actually WoW works better in DX11 mode, in my experience anyway. The graphics engine got a major overhaul, for Cataclysm, and Blizzard continues to work on it, with each expansion. Draenor, they increased the GPU dependency, and added more graphics options. WoW may be old, but you won't play WoW today, with the same hardware from 2004.
WoW is a 2004 game. It works better with DirectX 9 than 11. Drivers can be the culprit. I've seen streamers on twitch.tv with high end rigs get low fps on older games because their hardware is more recent than the older games that used old hardware specifications. anyways, that's one possible cause.

Another more likely scenario is that when your video driver crashes then recovers, it is because your overclock (either custom or factory) isn't 100% stable. You need to either increase the voltage or decrease the core clock.

Finally, one more scenario could involve running a program under Windows 7 compatibility under Administrator without Steam/etc (such as antivirus) running in the background because it may cause interference.

Good luck
