AMD Radeon card with dual analog outputs?

Hello,

Does anyone know of recent ATI radeon card with dual analog outputs? I know a lot have dual DVI ports, but they seem to only support VGA on one of those ports.
Any tips helpful.

That is not the case you can connect a DVI to VGA dohicky on both and have at it. I have this setup at home no issues.

yeah just get a dvi to vga cable/adapter and roll with dual dvi, mostly only lower end gpus have vga ports these days ie my single slot 5770 that is in a backup rig... just go to frys or microcenter if you want it right away or order from newegg and you will be in business, sometimes when purchasing a new gpu the manufacturer will include the vga to dvi accessory so you just have to look around and do a little research, good luck

Hi,

Well that's encouraging a little.
However, I have here the Asus EAH6950 DCII/2DI4S/2GD5,
and when I plug an analog monitor into the left DVI port I get nothing, while it works fine on the right port.
And both ports work fine with a digital monitor.

This image does suggest that only one VGA signal is supported...

What model of card do you have?

Correct. That card is an odd ball because one of those DVI ports is tied to a DP port so no analog signal is attached. Any "normal" 6950 should work. Like this one.

Well ... since you asked.

I'm setting up a rig for a theatre show.
I need to display video on 4 projectors.
Each video is 720x576, but projected at 16:9.
I need perfect frame sync between all videos, which is most easily achieved by combining them into a single video: 2880x576@25p, stretched on display to 16:9
This plays perfectly in MPC-HC.
But for perfect v-sync and no tearing, it must play on a single Fullscreen device (ie "horizontal span"). (And the displays must support 50Hz)

As I'm using Windows7, "horizontal span" = either Eyefinity or Nvidia Quadro Mosaic.

My original plan was to use a single Eyefinity card.

The 4 projectors take only VGA or HDMI.

First I purchased 4 Displayport to HDMI adapters from Extron, believing they were Active. However, despite being marked "active", they aren't at all. In fact, true active Displayport to HDMI adapters don't seem to exist.

I have now ordered 4 Sapphire Displayport to DVI adapters, but I'm extremely worried that they won't arrive in time, or that I have the dropouts people are complaining about. so I'm putting into action Plan B simultaneously....

Plan B is to use two Matrox Dualhead2go's.... I have the Digital Editions, which, despite their name, take an analog VGA input.

And now I've just discovered my card only has one VGA output.

ps. I chose the 6950 over something like the Quadro NVS 450, because I needed a real 3D GPU for a previous project.

In the end I found one of these works ok: HP Displayport to VGA adapter.

Won't work; most of the modern video cards have DVI-"D" ports - analog signal on the end of the DVI connector is not present, so the adapters will not work. Older ones do work as you describe.
