is this video card the great solution for multiple monitors (in my case 3 monitors) for gaming and expand desktop over all three monitors?
any suggestions my budget is about 300$ for video card?

and PSU is chieftec a135 series APS-550watts S
i think it will work ok?

You can use 3 displays with a 6870 but I would reccomend using a 6950.The extra VRAM that the 6950 offers will help a lot with the bigger resolutions like you want to use.You might need to replace your PSU for either though.

What is the make/model of your PSU?

That's what I suspected.

The 6870 will run eyefinity, I have run a setup at 6048x1080 with that card, just fine. Played all games crysis, JC2, BC3, L4D2 and so on with only one exception, that being GTA4 which is just a rubbish game in terms of design and code. Oh and Mirrors Edge only run a low quality due to the badly (on my part) worked hack to get it to work on 3 screens.

However I would not recommend it. If you plan to do some serious gaming and do so into the foreseeable future I would advise looking at the Saphire 2GB 6950 as purple stank mentioned above in your price range.

500W should barely suffice (and only on a quality power supply) depending on the rest of your system (benches seem to indicate at full load a power consumption of between 310-340W). Again however I would not recommend this. Get yourself a decent 700W PSU.

lol get yourself a reliable 500w unit and OP will be fine unless hes going for a bigger gpu then a 6870.

The point is that the chieftec psu he has now is garbage, so the first thing that needs to happen is a psu upgrade imo..

my monitors are two on dvi inputs and one central samsung t240 on hdmi?
on sapphire web page says that on of the moitors has to support display port.
does my samsung t240 supports it?

No it doesn't appear so. Not many monitors have built in DP converter/DAC. In order to get the third screen working you will need to purchase an ACTIVE DP-DVI converter (the card linked doesn't come with it either), by the way the card you linked to is only the 1GB version.

The adaptor you need will depend on your resolution, if your running (each single screen) at greater than 1920x1080 you will need a powered adaptor, else just a straight adaptor is fine.
