AMD Radeon HD 7970 or nVidia Geforce GTX 770?

Solution
I would say go with the 7970 because right now the price has dropped due to the new nvidia cards coming out. The 770 is more powerful, but I highly doubt you would be able to notice a difference in performance between the two. Of coarse the 770 has the physx and if you play games that utilize that then you may see a difference, otherwise the difference between the two gpu's isn't going to be noticeable.

Here are a couple of examples of great gpu's for the money, the vapor x is an overclocking monster and it stays nice and cool. They were selling for almost 500 just a few months ago, so this is a...
It matters on the game as some prefer nvidia or amd but the 770 and 7970 perform pretty similar with one some times being slightly better. So what games and resolution u playing at?

Also atm the 7970 goes for like $320-400 where the 770 is still at $400+. Also the 7970 comes with never settle forever with 3 games of ur choice.

I recently bought a 7970 and my choice to get it over the 770 was the games it came with, which was crysis 3, bioshock infinite, and FC 3 blood dragon, which was the never settle reloaded and I paid $420 instead the $335 it costs now lol

Look up benchmarks for both and the games u play and make ur decision and does the games that comes with the 7970 help ur decision or not along with pricing

The 770 is the faster card but it is also more expensive. As drivers continue to release, the 770 will widen the gap between itself and the 7970.

12% faster than the 7970 and 5% faster than the overclock Ghz edition. The 770 also overclocks very well but again, it's $399.

The 770 preforms better in all the games you listed.

That being said, the difference isn't huge and a good 7970 can be had for $320 vs $399 for the 770.

Borderlands 2 is a GPU accelerated PhysX game that will require the GTX 770 in order to enable the full effects with playable performance.

Also upcoming PhysX titles include: Call of Duty: Ghosts, Batman: Arkham Origins, and the Witcher 3. COD, for the first time ever with PhysX, should be enough to convince you to take the higher performing, quieter, and more efficient GTX 770. Batman: Arkham Origins comes free with the 770.

Add in the new partnership with Ubisoft, which will bring Nvidia-specific optimizations for Assassin's Creed 4 and Watch Dogs, and it should be a good upcoming year for gaming on the GTX 770.

And don't forget, there seems to be a rumor that Nvidia may be working with Rockstar to bring GTA V to the PC.
