AMD Radeon R7 200 driver problems

Hi, I have just purchased a AMD Radeson R7 200 and no matter what I do I can't get the thing to work, there seems to be an issue with the drivers.

I am running a Intel core i5, 8gb on windows 7 ultimate. Motherboard is a gigabyte h57m-usb3

I have uninstalled all old drivers with the Guru 3d driver clean up software. I have attempted to disable signed drivers in windows as that appeared to be a problem. I have installed the latest AMD drivers using their auto detect utility and also checked that I don't have the windows service pack problem. And I still get the error message;

On start up I get the following error;
No AMD graphics driver is installed or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for your hardware.

If I try to use catalysts control centre I get the following error.
Amd catalysts control centre cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD catalyst control centre.

In device manager It believes I am running driver 14.501.1003.0 and that the driver is up to date.

Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

it should not matter as drivers nowadays are unified. what specific gpu do you have?

A Gigabyte AMD Radeon R7 260x

remove the gpu and put it back on (so that it is seated properly)
sweep the driver, download from the amd website (download an older one just to be sure).

run installer

Thanks, tried that. Still the same problem with windows wanting signed drivers. I shall return it and get a different card.
