Hi all,
I have recently installed a new graphics (AMD Radeon R9 380) to my system, and also decided to use buy an additional screen and run a dual monitor setup.
The screens i have are Viewsonic VX2757, each have an HDMI, DP and VGA port.
The graphics card has 1 x HDMI and 2 DVI ports.
So to run dual screens i decided to purchase 2 x DVI-DP cables to connect the screens.
Unfortunately, no matter what i do i can't get the graphics card to detect the screens with those cables.
The graphics card does detect the monitor if connected via HDMI.
I have updated all of my graphics card drivers to the latest available updates.

Any help would be much appreciated.

(below are the specs of my machine)

CPU Type - AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor
Windows Version - Windows 10 (64 bit)
Graphics Chipset - AMD Radeon (TM) R9 380 Series
Radeon Software Version - 16.8.2
Radeon Software Edition - Crimson
System Memory - 16 GB
2 x Viewsonic VX2757 monitors

I'm not too familiar with display ports, but I have heard that in general, they are really faulty and that people should not use them. Rather than using them cables, you should try getting a DVI-HDMI or DVI-VGA cable/adapter, as that will work with the monitors.

Personally, I'm surprised that display ports are still being installed on Graphics Cards, as many people don't use them as they cause a lot of hassle.
