I'm building my first computer and I'm stuck on the graphics card...trying to keep this about the $200 range. I decided to go with an AMD graphics card because they seem to perform better than the Nvidia cards for this price. The high power consumption doesn't matter because I've got a 700W gold+ PSU. So far I've kinda gotten down to either a r9 380/380x or a r9 280x. I see that the 280x is older...so its not gonna support directx 12 and maybe some other stuff but it does have a bit better performance and the xfx one has a lifetime warranty. Both the 380 and 280x hover about the $200 mark or less (all the way to $170) and the 380x is at either the $200 or $220. Would it be worth it to go with a 380x over the 380 or should i go with the 280x over either? Or would it be worth it to go for an r9 390??? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
My Build:
CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor

Motherboard: ASRock 970M PRO3 Micro ATX AM3+/AM3
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2400
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Case: Thermaltake VL80001W2Z ATX Mid Tower Case
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 700W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply

Best way in my opinion is to go with 390 if you have budget. 280X is a good card but because of dx 12 support I wouldn't go with it. On the other side 380 is a good card too from my personal experience and 380X is slightly better judging by benchmarks. So obvious choice is 390 or 380X. If you have budget go with 390 if not then 380x.

Best luck!

Is it really worth it to jump up to the 390 over the 380x? Do you think it would be future proof enough because I was trying to keep this build for a while
