So this is just a quick question, but what are the differences between the R9 and FirePro from AMD in terms of performance. Also, for a gaming computer working with some graphics development on the side, is one of these choices better than the other?
For rendering? No. AMD Radeon R9 is recommended for gaming, with perhaps some light rendering tasks. But for workstation like 3D CAD tasks, and heavy 3D rendering what not you want a FirePro or Nvidia Quardro render card.

I am not excellently well versed in terms of computer components so this question may be redundant, but would / is there a motherboard that has the capacity to run a two-way R9 Crossfire and ProFire at the same time, and the ability to detect when to run which card (to use the R9 for gaming then switch to ProFire for graphic rendering)?
