Question amd radeon rx580

ihave just put a MSI AMD radeon rx580 armour OC 8gb ive connected it to my HDMI connection on my TV i get picture but no sound, Ive tried unistalling the drivers and reinstalling them. different hdmi connectiosn on the card and the tv, in Windows and in Linux it is the same problem picture and no sound. im not sure what else i can do now

What version is your HDMI cord?

its just a generic HDMI cable. worked with the onboard vega11 that I had before

its not listed in my sound settings, my tv has gone from LE-28GBR-A to Generic Pnp Monitor. the only thing listed in my sound settings is Realtek Digital Output.
