This may help with LA Noire (a copy/paste from my Steam review) --

The game engine is capped at 30fps. It looks and plays fine at 30fps, since there isn't a lot of action, but frame dips can make it unplayable. After much experimentation, I found a workaround. Run in windowed mode (this may not be necessary for everyone, but it is for my crossfire setup since windowed mode disables crossfire) and set it to single threaded. A single thread from my i5-2500k and a hd5850 is more than enough for a constant 30fps at highest settings.

mobilelubes - I think your other thread got closed because you never responded to any posts and it soon deteriorated into an AMD vs. Intel fight.

What version of drivers are you using?

Are you using the latest CAP profiles for crossfire? And dont get discouraged by statements like that CPU is terrible for gaming. It isnt as good as what Intel has to offer, but to say its terrible for gaming is incorrect. There shouldnt be a game on this planet that you couldnt play at 60+ FPS with your combo of hardware. Unless of course its capped. I believe an update came out for LA Noire that lifts that cap, altho its been awhile since ive seen anything LA Noire related.

You are right, I shouldn't have worded it like so. Like what you said, its not as formidable as the Intel offering, but its a processor nonetheless, and it processes stuff.

And he is right, your setup right now should be able to play everything on the highest it goes.

Ill ask again, are you using the latest CAP crossfire profiles from the AMD website? Also, crossfire and SLI arent friendly with every single game. Make sure you have the latest CAP profiles and if it doesnt change, disable one of your 7970s and rebenchmark.

On the catalyst drivers with crossfire, you have to make sure AI (Antialiising I think it was) is turned off. When you run the AI setting it can wreck havoc. I ran into that years ago and it had the same issue. That's an easy check.
