AMD Raedon driver and settings issue

I’m having an issue where I update my Radeon RX 580 drive in the device manager and the AMD Settings, they end up not matching and I’m getting an error saying “Radeon Settings version and Driver version do not match. Please try again after updating to the latest versions.” I've tried reinstalling the drivers and it’s still happening. What else can I do? Am I gonna have to do a clean install?

Download ddu and run it in safe mode to remove old drivers and then install new ones

i should mention that i've just built this pc and started installing everything today.
if i do this it won't damage anything, right?

I did the clean install with DDU and was able to get the latest version of the AMD Settings running. Do I need to update the driver manually from the device manager? how important is that?

Its of no importance. As long as you're up and running you're good now
