AMD Rd 270X Devil edition no display

I have just installed a AMD R9 270X graphics card onto my old pc build I followed the basic steps of a new install got it all working but the day after I went to get all the latest drivers for the card and I could not get any picture from the graphic card I can still use my on board graphics I have been into the bios and I can no seem to get it to work
Any help will be greatly appreciated

While using your Integrated Graphics Chipset set your desktop resolution to 800 x 600.

Enable / Install the card.

If you get a display set your desktop resolution to something more appropriate.

I have been building gaming rigs for a while now and I've never come across this before
Somthing simple will allways confuse me

Just an update I just plugged everything back in and tried to launch the pc no display at all took power away from the new graphics card and I now have display is this normal to happen
I have never seen this before my head is hurting
