Hey guys I have a single rx 480 4 gb right now and I'm thinking of grabbing another one to crossfire them and more up to 2k gaming. However, I have a 600 watt psu right now, would that be enough to power my system? I have a core i7 4790 non k, gigabyte z97-sli mobo, 32 gb ram, 3 hdd, 1 ssd, 1 pcie ssd and a keyboard, mouse and audio interface hooked up via usb. I've tried entering all my equipment on a psu calculator and it says that I would only need 550 watt psu. Is that right? I've read from some people recommending a 850 watt psu for crossfire rx 480s. Can anyone help me please? Thanks

Recommended is 650W. If you have a good (emphasis on good) PSU and not some POS one then you may be able to get away with 600W.

However, it's usually better to give yourself some sort of headroom to avoid any catastrophes. The PSU is the last thing you want to skimp on in a PC.

do the math
overclocked 4790 - can hit over 150 watt
every RX 480 (especially overclocked) - can spike to 200
everything else, another 50-100 watts
650w of a good PSU is the bare minimum without abuse (running prime95+ heaven simultaneously).
comfort zone is around 850w.
anyway, CF/SLI is bad for gaming. high input lag, stuttering/freezes, no support etc.
