Thinking about upgrading my R9 380x 4gb to a Rx 580 8gb, but worried how my cpu might bottleneck it. I have a 4-core 4-thread Anthlon 860k overclocked to 4.3ghz, and wondering if it's fast enough to handle the upgrade. Thanks!

Full system specs:
Asus A88x plus Motherboard
Athlon 860k 4.3ghz (Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo)
8gb ddr3 2400mhz ram
R9 380x 4gb vram
Rosewill Capstone G-series 650w
128gb SSD

With that CPU you will struggle to get a stable 60 fps in many modern games even with the OC.

As a rule of thumb, if you are seeing frame drops with the R9 380X at 1080p on 'Low' settings, you'll get the same problems with an RX 580.

I would say the R9 380X is a good match for your current CPU. At the moment you are seeing only a relatively small CPU bottleneck in games. Depends on the game ofc.

Upgrading your GPU is only worth it if you get a new CPU...
