When out of stock 3rd party sellers prices are shown instead and they are scalpers.
Congrats on the 5600X!
Many boards will work, some will need a bios update possible.
I ordered GIGABYTE B550I AORUS PRO AX for my 5900x
Ive yet to install i since its not gonna be here till tomorrow.
My board is ITX sized for a small case

Thanks ... I'm probably go Big Case and roomy MB with latest chipset ... so I can do some extreme cooling !!!!

I was OC'ing and modding the early AMD Athalon in 2000. Yah, long time ago. I stopped and returning to the hobby.

At that time, I was doing -5 C' under load.

My last build was AMD Phenom 550 x2 that I unlocked to 4 cores in and XFX GTS 250 in 2009 or 2010.
Right now while I build ths new system in running Dell OptiPlex 7050MT with I5-7600 and 1050ti.

That’s funny, I stopped building around that time, I think 2008. My last CPU purchase was an AMD Phenom which I still have NIB and sold off all my accumulated “stuff” and regain my OFFICE. I amazing how much I spent, it was far more expensive than “golfing”.

Just for your own reference, dont expect too much out of overclocking that processor.
Modern Ryzen processors do not have much headroom.
That’s too bad, if true. But I won’t be OC’ing under a standard thermo envelope, I’ll be do it under extreme cooling and not with water blocks and fans but with TECs “- Celsius”. I’m very experienced with condensation isolation techniques. In 2000, I was OC’ings at -5 to -10c .... all custom, not these commercial water block systems available today. My RIGS had 2 PSUs with the 2nd PSU joined at the start-up lead at the molex connector and all the wires trimmed accept for the 12v rail which I connected to the TECs. I only used PSUs that had at least 18 to 24 amps, else its useless. I had to alert and careful because everything went HOT when you hit the Power On.

Obviously, I could not use it to run OUTLOOK

Im by no means any kind of expert in PC's in general but using 1usmus CTR software, people are seeing some decent OC'ing on their 5000 series processers. On my 5600X, without OC'ing I see boosts of 4649mhz on all cores anyway but using CTR hybrid OC'ing, i get stable 4550mhz all core overclock with 2 cores boosting to 4850mhz which is not bad.
