Hello,
I'm about to buy the Ryzen 5 1600x and make the 4.0 GHz OC. And I want to combine it with the G.Skill TridentZ RGB at 3200 MHz. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232476 I have made a research and I got really confused so you are my only hope.. So my question is, will i get the maximum 3200 MHz RAM speed or I'll face issues? And I would appreciate if you could suggest me B350 or X370 mobo in order to achive my goal? Thank you in advance.

When I built a Ryzen 1700 for a friend of a friend of mine, the DIMMs he initially got that were supposed to work with Ryzen wouldn't work on his motherboard. The computer shop he bought the parts for had to try two other sets of DIMMs to find one that worked, update the BIOS and only then did the original pair work.

If you can, make sure the board you get has a BIOS recent enough to have the AGESA 1.0.6 update preloaded - that's the update that significantly improves Ryzen's memory compatibility.

Ryzen: Standard RAM speeds supported, including OC settings. 2133/2400/2667/2933/3200Mhz with a CL 14,15 or 16. This RAM is compliant.

BIOS: Install the latest. It should clear up issues of early models.

RGB: You'll want an MSI with Mystic lighting or ASUS with AURA Sync. As they are compatible with the Trident Z RAM RGB. You can also pair them with other compatible lighting to keep your RGB in sync. Such as a Phanteks P400s case or Cooler Master Masterfan RGB case Fans.

Edit: By the way. Since you are overclocking. Don't waste money on the 1600x the 1600 will perform the same when overclocked. Use the money saved for a better quality PSU or better cooling.

Thank you all for your answers, they are all helpful and well appreciated.. Just by the way about cooling thing, CM hyper 212 evo that I already have will be enough for 4.0Ghz OC or I'll need something "bigger"?

Thanks all. Just one last thing, can you please make me a shortlist of best possible air coolers for my occasion so I will choose from..? Sorry if I ask for many things..

While it depends on your country. In the US at least. The Scythe Mugen Max offers the best value. When dealing with an overclocked CPU it performs better than a BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3 and Noctua NH-D14. Which are both heavy hitters. It also performs close to the Cryorig R1 Ultimate. Which is about as good as it gets for air cooling. The best part is it cost about the same as budget coolers right now.

Wow it looks like a great deal. So I would prefer it than Scythe mugen 5? I ask cause mugen 5 includes the am4 bracket which makes it an easier buy..

The Mugen 5 is slightly better than the Mugen Max. It is nearly on par with the Noctua NH-D15. It comes close to the NZXT Kraken X62. In PWM mode and overclocked. They do better in straight 12V mode. Most people don't want their fans on max speed 24/7. So, PWM is a more realistic measure.

The big advantage of the more expensive coolers is the split radiator, dual fan design and higher quality fans. This results in a quieter cooling solution. Although good case airflow plays a big factor in how hard a CPU cooler has to work.

Now I'm sure, I go for Mugen 5.. Thank you all for the help given to me. It is well appreciated..!
