I just upgraded from a AMD A10 6800k to a RYZEN 5 2600x and a water cooler, but my CPU idles around 36° c to 55° c is this at all normal?

Solution
It won't those cpus basically just pick a temp and keep running faster until it reaches that temp. Id still consider undervolting it some as it'll likely speed the cpu up and also lower temps

First thing, a water cooler is not better than a Similar sized air cooler. Until you get the water cooler bigger than what you can hang off a cpu as an air cooler it's not any better performance wise.

With that in mind what watercooler do you have?

Usually with a 2600x you can actually undervolt it a bit and lower temps and keep boost clocks same as usual
