[SOLVED] AMD RYZEN 3900X immediate power off

Hi

I purchased a used RYZEN 3900x and a RYZEN 7 3700x.

I made a new build using an MSI X570 tomahawk, 32GB 3600mhz ram, Corsair RM850 PSU. I wanted to test to ensure the system powered on before installing my cooler and graphics card etc. I have the 24pin power connected, coy power connected, every time I press the power button the system powers up with fans spinning and immediately turns off with the 3900x. When I plug the 3700x it powers up and stays on.

can I get any advice on why the 3900x might be doing this and any help to try resolve this would be great.

With the 3700x in double check the bios version of the board and then verify what bios version that board needs for the 3900x, or if that board supports it. If the bios version supports the 3900x then the 3900x may be faulty.

I purchased job lots from auctions, not saying it isn’t faulty but wanted advice if there was any possible reason it was doing that before I give up on it.
