Question AMD Ryzen 5 2500U - Memory Upgrade Questions

So me and my dad got together and got my sister a HP laptop with the following specifications:

HP 15'6 Laptop - 15-db0069wm

1x8GB DDR4-2400
1TB HGST 5400RPM HDD

So I want to get her a 16GB (2x8GB DDR4) memory kit since her machine is fairly easy to upgrade.

I know AMD Ryzen CPU's like high speed low latency DDR4 RAM but how does this translate to AMD's laptop U series APU's?
I would assume since this thing is an APU that it would love high speed / low latency memory even more then the desktop CPU's my only concern is would the UEFI BIOS allow me to select an XMP profile on this HP laptop or should I just stick with low CAS DDR4-2400?
