[SOLVED] AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs Intel Core i7 - 9700

Solution
Neither. Both. Either one. The 9700k can get slightly higher fps at 1080p, barely better fps at 1440p and equitable fps at 4k.

But since the fps at 1080p is very high, there's no visual difference, only a difference in a benchmark.

In most newer AAA titles, you'll be gpu capped, not cpu capped, meaning any extra fps won't be used anyway.

Personally I'd not even look at the 9700k, it's about to get swapped out for 10th Gen cpus and for the same price or less than the 8 core I7-9700k, you'd be looking at 8core/16thread hyperthreaded cpus.

Don't forget cooling - the 3700X takes less power and is bundled with a better cooler, saving some more cash and a lot of headaches.

Heh, the 3700x is bundled with A cooler, the 9700k isn't, but that's almost moot at this level of pc, almost everybody opting for an OC resistant, oversized aftermarket cooler anyways.

Power Can be a factor in some builds especially mITX which is small form factor limited with few decent psu choices, but a decent 550w or a mediocre 650w will do nicely with either cpu choice in matx/atx cases.

But mentioning those was a good idea, there are options for every budget.
