Hi all,

I'm new to Tom's Hardware forum in general and I have been looking around to try and solve my issue when it comes to my Ryzen 7 5800x temps on idle. I have not tried to play a game or run any kind of benchmark because I am nervous about the temps sitting at 69c on idle using HWMonitor.

However on Ryzen Master my temps for CPU says it's sitting at 60c total.

Also my Peak Speed on Ryzen Master never reaches 3.8GHZ it fluxates alot at 2.1 and 2.7 and anything inbetween.

Please could someone help me when it comes to lowering temps and maybe setting the cpu to it's base clock speed?

can you show screenshots of HWINFO?

it seems odd its temps are higher than Ryzen master

What cooling are you using?
what case?
how many fans etc?

My 3600xt never at base clock speed, always lower. '
Ryzen CPU only have cores awake if they needed. If a task needs to be run, CPU wakes a core, boosts it to speed needed and once task done again, it rushes to idle. Normally my 3600xt is sitting on about 1ghz.
What are you looking at? Is that the effective clock or core ratios? https://www.hwinfo.com/forum/threads/effective-clock-vs-instant-discrete-clock.5958/

Which sensor are you looking at in HWINFO?
The CPU score that shows on the motherboard section of HWINFO is actually showing the package temp, or socket temp.
whereas the ones under the CPU are actual internal core temps

Package temps are always warmer than internal ones.

I could guess AMD more accurate as they might not share all sensor values. They don't share how they work out clock speed, so its not a surprise they don't share temp calculations either.

45/50 is about what I see in summer, though my CPU isn't exactly same as yours.
its a better temp than 60c was anyway.
