Hi yall,
BACKGROUND: I am putting together my first build, and I will use it for work and personal. For work, I will not be doing much that is very graphics intensive, but I do have a 45" monitor, so despite it being low-level graphics demands per task, it requires high resolution to be visible clearly and fill the entire screen. I also plan on adding another because I fill up the one i have with a million windows and a million tabs in each as it is and need more space, so that'll be added graphics burden. For personal use, i wont be running Alan Wake by any means, and the most GPU-intensive game i'd care to run would be BG3.
In the new build, my CPU will be an AMD Ryzen™ 9 9950X3D, which has integrated graphics . However, in the prebuilt I am currently using, there is a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. Now, I know that it is typically better to have a dedicated GPU because integrated graphics depend on RAM and are not as powerful because of that. However, since the GPU I have is a bit on the older end, and i cannot find much information about it, I am not sure whether it will perform better than the integrated graphics would perform. Also, I know integrated graphics depend on the RAM, but with the RAM I will have, I think I would be okay.
QUESTIONS:
-Can I use the GPU i currently have and run something like BG3 as well as have two ultrawide monitors with a dozen windows and many times as many tabs?
-If not, will the integrated graphics in my CPU be able to handle it?
-Worst case scenario, if neither can handle the demands i have, what are minimum specs I should look for in a GPU?
Thanks!
