Hi,
Got two options in my mind. Will be using B450 Gigabyte Aorus I Pro Wifi or Asrock Fatal1ty B450 mini-itx. I prefer silent operation.
  1. AMD Ryzen 5 3400G built in VGA Vega 11, or
  2. AMD equivalent price as above 1 plus a standalone non fan/silent VGA card. Maybe Evga/Asus 1030 or AMD…?
For the price of 3400G, which non graphic AMD CPU is within that range? Ryzen 5 3600?

3400g graphics are just a bit better than 1030 but 3600 is much better CPU.

Nothing hardcore. Actually pretty mild. But I am just into better stuffs rather than just enough.
Usage: Excel, Words, Youtube, Netflix, Web, Adobe Illustrator CS. No games, no overclock. Priority is quiet, On 24/7. Used Intel NUC Celeron before which is quiet but slow

Then Im guessing the Ryzen 5 3400G (4 cores/8 threads) will be a good choice. Not knowing the model of the NUC you currently have (or atleast the CPU it includes) its imposible to know if the R5 3400G will perform the same or much better.

Other than that you could go with a Ryzen 5 1600 AF (6 cores/12 threads) + a discrete GPU like https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8fx9TW/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-4gb-video-card-gv-n105td5-4gd.
The R5 1600 AF is a new version of the old Ryzen 5 1600, with a performance basically on pair with the Ryzen 5 2600, but cheaper (https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Processo...579350518&sprefix=ryzen+5+1600,aps,288&sr=8-1).

Cheers
